Home

Music: Play list 160106: now playing “Home is where the heart is”/Lynyrd Skynyrd
Mood: home

I’ve written about this song so many times that I don’t remember if I have ever added the lyrics too. Anyway, it’s “Home Is Where The Heart Is” and I feel my heart now, at this very moment, in my own self. I’m home here, right here where I am… or, better said, home is in me, in my heart.
I don’t know how it comes but I just feel it; it happened so suddenly – hope I’m feeling the same tomorrow… and the day after too.

------------------------

Home Is Where The Heart Is
(Lynyrd Skynyrd)

I’ve always lived my life like a gypsy
I can’t imagine myself settlin’ down
So please don’t ask me to give up this life I lead
’Cause I love to feel those wheels go ’round and ’round

I can see it inside
It’s my heart that sees, not my eyes
And if you listen close I’ll tell you why
Home is where the heart is
And my heart is at home with you

There’s a cold wind blowin’ and you know it’s almost midnight
You never dreamed it would be this hard lovin’ a music man
But this iron horse on which I ride I’m closer it’s true
And it’s just as hard for me as it is for you

I can see it inside
It’s my heart that sees not my eyes
And if you listen close I’ll tell you why
Home is where the heart is
And my heart is at home with you

In my life I’m always on the run
Livin’ one day at a time
Hold on a little longer
I don’t know where I’m gonna end up
Or where I’ll go

I can see it inside
It’s my heart that sees not my eyes
And if you listen close I’ll tell you why
Home is where the heart is
And my heart is at home…

I can see it inside
It’s my heart that sees not my eyes
And if you listen close I’ll tell you why
Home is where the heart is
And my heart is at home with you

Home is where the heart is
Oh, my home is where my heart is
Oh, my home is where my heart is

Cheers!

Music: Play list 160106
Mood: willing

Went to see my dentist for check-up. I had almost forgotten this appointment… phew! Last night I was still working on my weekly magazine. I don’t remember exactly what time but I think it was around 2:00, I got REAL sleepy and I just couldn’t keep my eyes open. So, I thought: I’m going to have a short nap, only an hour or so. It was already after 5 when I awoke… so I slept for 3 hours!! I finished my work, fed the gang and was ready to go to bed at around 6:30… then suddenly I remembered I had an appointment at my dentist’s on a Friday in January. Gees, there are only 2 Fridays left now! I go to check the appointment card and find out that it’s indeed on Jan 20…. At 10:30!!! Yeeeeeeeeek!

He has found 2 decays (“just small ones”) and I have to go back again in February (on Valentine’s day… how nice!)

-----------------------------
Read in the paper today and checked on the internet:
Wine drinkers live longer than beer drinkers
I never buy meat, I don’t mind if the cheese I buy is low fat or not… but on the whole, my shopping pattern is the same as that of wine drinkers. Well, I AM indeed a wine drinker, although I like beer in the summer, too.
Anyway, I found here another good reason to get me some bottles of wine tomorrow.

-----------------------------

Think I’m going to sweep all the dead leaves this weekend, get rid of all those papers (again!), shampoo Fox, do some administration work, (maybe) wash my car…. Hm… I have to see…

Sleepless in...

Music: Play list 160106 = “Santa Feast/Christmas in June CD1 - The Flame”O.L. (+L.N.) etc. (Lynyrd Skynyrd, Thunder, Keb’ Mo’)
Mood: tired

…Seattle!!
YAY! Am flying to Seattle in April to go to O.L.’s concerts. Flights, a hotel room… all booked and confirmed. :D OK, I admit that I’m not really prominent in the Fanmenco scene. But it doesn’t mean that I’m completely out of the scene.
Besides, this time it’s even more special to be there… it’s a great opportunity to meet some of my “virtual” friends in person. I shouldn’t, couldn’t and wouldn’t miss it!
Well, at the moment, I actually can’t afford this.. SO I worked this whole weekend! It was a small translation job; it’s not very much but hopefully this can cover the airfare.

So, this was my happy news today. :)

-------------------

It’s kinda “Sleepless in Utrecht” since Fox’s surgery. He doesn’t need to go out so often any more, no…, but now my day-night pattern is really – uh – distorted. I don’t have to get up too early fortunately, but still, I can’t be sleeping the whole day, can I. I’m going to have to – at least try to – change this rhythm.

So… am turning in very soon.

I wish...

Music: Play list 080106 (=play list 241205 + OL)
Mood: comfortable

I like it (well, who doesn’t?) when my wish comes true. I like it when it happens totally unexpected. I also like it when it finally happens after hard working. In any way it happens, I never take it for granted.
…I think I have written this before… I’m a dream person – a full-time dreamer, I like dreams, I like dreaming, I love to dream, I need a dream to dream about.

------------

F. came along to wish Fox a speedy recovery (and for me a happy new year). F. is one of my friends who I always can count on.

------------

oh, am supposed to post a happy story… let me think…. Well, today’s post IS already a happy one; my double (no, it’s triple!) wish is about to come true… thanks to Santa! This Santa, btw, must be a real supernatural; the timing was just TOO right.. and he did the magic twice!

------------

My friends (near and far) are so, so good to me, give me such warm feelings, mean a lot to me. I wish I could do the same to them.

------------

hm, when I started to write this, I had one song in my mind.. now I have several… like; “Dream On” (Aerosmith), “Let It Bleed” (the Rolling Stones), “Dream Dreamer” (Shocking Blue), “Rock in the Sea” (Shocking Blue)…. But I think I’ll stick to the very first song, and this is it.

-------------

Seven Wishes
(Night Ranger)

If you were handed seven wishes
Would you turn your back for more
Would you hold on tight to what you have
Would you try to change the score

If you were given back a lifetime
Would you find some room for me
Oh, won’t you take my hand and walk away
Know it all was meant to be

Heart aching
Heart breaking
Hearts changing
Never want the same thing

Rise to the sun with seven wishes
Will you turn into stone with seven wishes
And your eyes on the run with seven wishes
Seven wishes

If we could travel back in time now
When I handed you the key
Oh I know you learned your magic well
Would you use the magic on me

Are the changes for the better
Do the lonely ones agree
I see you handing out the promises
That were meant for only me

Heart aching
Heart breaking
Hearts changing
Never want the same thing

Rise to the sun with seven wishes
Will you turn into stone with seven wishes
And your eyes on the run with seven wishes
Seven wishes

Heart aching
Heart breaking
Hearts changing
Never want the same thing

Heart aching
Heart breaking
Hearts changing
Never want the same thing

Rise tot the sun with seven wishes
Will you turn into stone with seven wishes
And your eyes on the run with seven wishes
Seven wishes

Flying...

Music:
Oh… what does it matter??!!

I was just about to write something like:
oh, oh, my world is so small… I see it on my Flickr photostream… my world consists of my tiny kitchen, my small room, a few walking routes with Fox and that’s it…

Well, who cares?! …I’m flying now.. already.. yeeppie!!!

A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Um... am a bit late… yet, I’d like to send my best wishes to everyone. May 2006 be the best year ever for you! A year with lots of happy moments and smiles! (…well, for me, I hope it will be at least better than the last few years…)

---------

Music: play list 241205 (haven’t changed it yet); added “Don’t Tread” by Damn Yankees to the list
Mood: calming down

--------------

Am calming down, yes… but earlier tonight, I was REALLY angry and upset! GRRRRR. Arrrgh, if I think about it, I get angry again!!
R. called. Well, that’s OK, ’cos it’s about time… I’ve been waiting his reaction for about 20 months now. BUT! I didn’t like it when he was talking like it was MY fault, saying that I was the one who made HIM wait. I don’t think it’s fair of him that he had never answered to my last suggestion. AND! What made me SO angry, was that he had already made an appointment with a “mediator”. He said, “I don’t know if you can but I made an appointment with a mediator on Tuesday”. WHAT?? EXCUSE ME????? Well, it’s so, so, soooooo typical! Instead of saying/asking, “shall we call in a mediator?” or “maybe we should, don’t you think?” or whatever, he had made an appointment already!!!!! If he had asked first, I probably… well, I’m sure I would have agreed to go to a mediator AFTER his reaction on my suggestion. This is really, so typical of him!!! ARRRRGGGRR.

Pffff… well, having written this down, I’m feeling better now. S. came along tonight with a bottle of champagne (wow!! – left over from the NY’s eve’s, he said) and some snacks. He must have guessed, when we were chatting earlier in the eve, that something was wrong. He was so kind to listen to my story; I could throw this out, which helped me to calm down.

--------------

…as if nothing else happened in the world today….

--------------

Good news:
Thunder’s concert is rescheduled on Feb. 5. YAY!

--------------

Happy news:
C.’s got a baby boy!!

---------------

I’ll try this year to post at least one happy/good message every time… even if it’s a very short one.
