Day off

Music: Frank Zappa, Howlin' Wolf, Santana, Blues Brothers, Urban Dance Squad and more. Right now, Bad Company.

Mood: bored and sleepy
In my glass: just finished Italian white

After another busy week, I gave myself a very, very lazy day off today. And now I’m bored. Well, OK, I could work but then I’m not THAT bored.

In fact and honestly, it was such a nice week, I enjoyed it so much. Busy, yes, but fun as well. I was with people.. with friends. Hm… Although there was a scary moment, too (I’ll write about it later).
And suddenly it was a “off” day today..

Ah, but alright, it’s going to be another hectic day tomorrow. For now, I’d better get bored to the max. Hihihihih….

TGIF!!!! ….tomorrow…

Music: right now “Back a la Maison" by Captain Gumbo

Mood: tired and sleepy
In my glass: just finished Californian Zinfandel

It feels like I’m dying inside slowly…. LOL! No, no… um…I’m doing fine… I’m only a bit – well, very much – tired now. I need some sleep, That’s all.

---------------

Put Fox in a bath. He really enjoyed it again; now he’s snoring.
Every time I shampoo Fox, my hands get very dry. I wonder if the shampoo is too aggressive.. and if it dries out Fox’s skin as well. Hmmmm.. would Fox need cream rinse?

Hide Your Love

Music: pff… um… it was today.. jazzy, bluesy, head-banging.. and more. At this very moment, “Hide Your Love” by the Rolling Stones (from “Goats Head Soup”)

Mood: getting better
In my glass: Italian red (Primitivo)

“Hide Your Love”… one of my most faves of the Stones!! The album is from 1973…. How old was I at that time?? What a weird kid I was, huh?
Several years later, I still remember now, when “Black and Blue” was out, I was at senior-high. I was on my way home from school, I heard somebody calling me from a few blocks behind me… He, a boy from the school newspaper which I was also a member of, had that brand new Stones album!! He said: “Hey, look what I’ve got!!” Ooooh, I was sooooo jealous! I had to wait another week to buy it!!

Hhmm… “Hide Your Love”…No, I can’t.. couldn’t hide my love… that could often be a problem… Well, at the moment, I have nothing to hide ;) LOL!!

As St. Valentine’s is now just around the corner, I see those “lovely hearts” everywhere. There are lots of therapies and such for the people who have problems with Christmas days… but not with St. V.
Grmpf… I’ll survive, yes, I will!!

-----------------------

Hey, Mick, btw, why don’t you make a good, really good blues album once again???
…and, and please, SPEAK – sing in – ENGLISH!! (or, even better if in Japanese!)
The lyrics of “Hide Your Love” I found on the net are not right, I think.. and those on the liner notes of the album, either. What is he singing actually?? The lyrics below are from the internet. I know.. those words are not exactly he’s singing. But ok, the lyrics are not the most important part of the song, I guess.

First snow this winter. It was a wet, icy snow and I didn’t really like it.. I mean, I do like snow, I do like crisp cold winter… BUT please, please NO rain, NO storm, NO snow on Thursdays, when I have to go to MultiCopy twice by bike!!

-----------------------

I have a headache rather often since this nasty flu… Hope it’s over soon…

Hide Your Love
(The Rolling Stones)

Sometimes I'm up, sometimes I'm down
Sometimes I'm fallin' on the ground
How do you hide, how do you hide your love?

Now look here, baby, it sure looks sweet
In the sleep time, out in the street
Why do you hide, why do you hide your love?
Why do you hide, baby, why do you hide your love?

Oh, been a sick man, I wanna cry
Lord, I'm a drunk man, but now I'm dry
Why do you hide, why do you hide your love?

Now look here, baby, you sure look cheap
I make money seven days a week
Why do you hide, why do you hide your love?
Why do you hide, baby, hide from the man that you love?

Come on, come on, come on
Come on, come on, come on

Oh, babe, I'm reachin', reachin' high
Oh, yeah, I'm fallin' out of the sky
Why do you hide, hide from the man that you love?
Why do you hide, baby, why do you hide your love?

Oh, yeah, oh, yeah, oh, yeah, oh, yeah
Why do you hide, why do you hide your love?
Why do you hide it, baby, hide from the man that you love
That you love? Well, well, well, well

Full moon

Music: Rolling Stones (early days), Thunder, Muddy Waters

Mood: mixed

…I was just about to turn in and remembered I hadn’t updated my blog. Well, it’s not new, is it? Haha.. but I had some thoughts today to write about.

--------------

I wish I was a sun or star that shines on its own. I’m a moon. A moon doesn’t shine itself; it only reflects. Wish I had something my own, something I could shine with.

--------------

Nothing is eternal – at least, a life is not eternal. Even the Sun is not eternal. A life ends… a life form ends. Sometimes.. often it ends too soon.

--------------

Have had a headache again. I’ve been in a strange mood. Don’t know how it comes – perhaps it’s the full moon.

Give the Earth a short break...

Music: various – at this moment “Hejira” by Joni Mitchell

Mood: very, very tired and sleepy
In my glass: …thinking if I should pour in Côtes du Rhône…

Have been down with flu, been in bed for 5 days. Yesterday, for the first time since Thursday, got up and went outside to walk Fox only one block. Well, I wanted to stay one more day in bed but alas, I had to work. Aaahhh… Friday I had a fever of 39.5°C and had pain everywhere in my body.
I was really glad that Fox was so co-operative; I couldn’t take him for a walk so I let him out in the backyard – very quickly every time. Cats were not too co-operative but very sweet to keep me company all the time.

Anyway, I’m so relieved now that I’m feeling better again (now about 80%).

-----------------------

Tomorrow night (Feb. 1) at 19:55 CET, we are going to turn off all the lights in the house. I believe it’s an European campaign on French initiative to make a statement, while IPCC has a meeting in Paris. Well, it’s not very much to turn lights off for 5 minutes. But then, even only for 5 minutes, the Earth can have a short rest. That’s an idea.
And of course, we should be conscious in our every day life. Just a small effort could make a big difference.. I hope.
Hmmm… if I’d go to bed one hour earlier every night… could I save a small amount of energy? Hhmmmm… then I’d use the same amount of energy in the morning maybe….. Need to think.
