A 30 year old single malt goes a long way toward buying my affection. Alas, I have neither horse nor Italian sports car.

Thank God that it was the last sip! Otherwise I would have tormented you for not letting me taste...
No horse, no sports car, no 30y.old Islay on my side. So you can't mean me.

Oh, by the way, I don't have such wishes. Just a nice companion in my range (whatever this means).

In this scotch I see the same characteristics as in my dream-Prince…
You know, I was thinking… Fox, my bullterrier, too is just like this Ardbeg. He is robust, sweet, firm (-bodied), smooth (-coated). Only, he’s not rich. Oh my God, could he be my Prince, who had been changed to a dog by the mean, old, ruthless hag?? =-0
Naaaah, he’s just a silly dog!

Hey Kym, long time since I've stopped by - but if I had known you were a "whisky girl"... (listen to Toby Keith)
No, work has kept me away. Anyway, I'm more of a bourbon guy (Americans have such un-refined taste) - but I appreciate the Scotch too (not just their tape). But my experience is limited so describe the characteristics of a good Islay! (I mean besides being like a prince in a red Ferrari - what does it taste like? Charred oak, smoked peat, what?)
Alas, Scotch is a rich man's hobby. :-(

Victor, welcome back!
I drink whisky only once in a (long) while. And when I do, it’s usually a Scotch or Irish. But sometimes I have a bourbon like Jack Daniels or Wild Turkey (had to get used to it a bit, though). Islay malts are the most distinctive of all single malt whiskies, they say. An Islay has earthy, tar-like flavours (again, they say). Peat is the key of Islay, imparting a dryness which is balanced by sweetness, sometimes emphasized by smokiness. …Hm, I changed my mind - this Prince must ride on a (a little bit wild) horse, not a Ferrari.

P.S.
I might sound kinda alcoholic, no? I don’t drink that much, though..., believe me, please.

The Lone Pen, welcome!
Laphroaig is good, too, isn't it. Very good indeed. Y'know, I could use a dram at this very moment... I had to walk home in the rain for 45 min., got soaking wet. I repaired the tube of my bike yesterday, but got a flat again tonight. This time, it went really "PANG!". Well, okay, c'est la vie! I just wish I could have a sip of good scotch now. :-(
