Opus Pocus
Music: Opus Pocus (from “Jaco Pastorius”/Jaco Pastorius)
Physical condition: very low level
Mood: still crawling
I was in LA when I heard the news – Jaco was dead. I don’t recall the details, he was killed because of a bottle of whisky or something like that, no? Well, I only remember that it was a very sad story. This “Opus Pocus” tune came up suddenly in my mind this morning, and stayed whole day. Strange, because I don’t know much about him, haven’t listened to him recently… it was at least 2 years ago, I think, that I played his music the last time (one of the Weather Report albums).

Never heard of this guy. Concerning your physical condition: I told you that you should do more sports as a preparation. ;-) So now take lots of vitamin C and don't mix alc in the hot milk or whatever. Going to bed early is not the worst idea either.

Borya, thanks. I know I should take better care of myself…. I’m trying.
I did some research about Jaco (thanks for the web-info, Yumiko!). Yes, now I remember, he was beaten to death by a bar bouncer. Jaco was drunk (he was alcoholic) and had a quarrel with a doorman at the bar. It was something Jaco said to the doorman that caused this fatal row. It was in September 1987, he was only 36 (almost) - much too young to die.

Do you know the Joni Mitchell songs she recorded with Jaco Pastorius and Michael Brecker ? I like them very much, especially the live recordings of 'Drycleaner from Demoines' and 'Goodbye Porkpie Head'.

Thank you, Rob, for checking this post. It's a bit confusing if I could send my petition via e-mail or not... but I guess it's ok via e-mail, right?
I'm also going to forward the web address to my friends :)
Good luck with the project!
