A little next to naked...
Broadway – the capital of entertainment. Well, this was on Times Square. When I was hurrying from my hotel on the 47th St. to Dave’s (6th Av., 16th St.) to buy me a few pairs of Levi’s, I heard people – mostly ladies – screaming. Gosh, a very little next to naked man with a guitar there in the middle of the square! I – a shy, innocent Japanese woman - would not dare to walk up to him, ran instead 2 streets further down and took this pic in haste. The lady in the red shirt does not seem very charmed, though. He would not have to take his Levi’s off for me to get my attention, y’know. He IS quite good looking…(then, clothes on – an old washed white T and an old blue jeans - , please! ).
BTW, I read in the paper the other day that a pair of plain white cotton socks were taboo for a man of 2004. Why? I like those white socks… Anyone else?

You mean, only white socks and tennis shoes and nothing else? Sounds okay to me wearing white socks then. :-) Or the Chili Peppers style would be okay also. But then - and this may have meant - if you are dressed a bit more properly, maybe wearing a suit, white cotton socks are a big mistake. And it depends on the shoes. To most shoes plain white socks don't fit. So it depends on the total styling. But hey, that's a question of taste, so go ahead as you like!

Even with a fancy suit, I would prefer to see him in white cotton socks. But then, also with an old worn pair of basketball shoes. I agree with you, Borya, about "total styling", but "chique from head to toe" is much too much, so overdone to me. A very fancy suit and a pair of old basketball shoes + white socks to dress down a bit... This nonchalant (well, rather daring) mismatch can be very sexy.;-) But it depends on HIM actually, how it turns out to be - a good mismatch or a mistake. BTW, with bear feet (like OL!) could be very sexy, too... :-)
But it is after all a matter of taste, of course.

Boris--I briefly considered going to a Chili Peppers concert last year dressed with nothing but the sock ;) But I decided against it, being as it's illegal and all.

How briefly did you consider that? :-) Was the illegality the only reason not to attend the concert that way? That would be brave (and self-confident) to attend a party that way!!

I've heard of this guy too. Seems he makes a living singing in NY, but why the heck he chooses to do with with white underwear beats me. If I remember correctly he wears manly footwear--cowboy boots!

Luz--He doesn't do much singing for a living ;) He just stands around on that island in Times Square in his underwear + cowboy boots and takes pictures! lol...I've seen him one too many times, I think :P
